Frozen Lake

Frozen LakeThe current cold weather in the UK has provided some good photo opportunities. An example is the frozen lake in the village of Oxton. Usually it is nothing special, from a photographic point of view, but add some snow and freezing temperatures and the vista changes dramatically.

To enhance the effect of winter on the frozen lake I have processed the image in Photomatix before finishing it off in Photoshop Elements. I would like to think it would look nice on a Christmas card!

I hope you like the effect.

Winter Wonderland

Winter WonderlandWith the first snow of the winter falling in the UK I think this photograph nicely depicts a winter wonderland.

It was certainly very cold and crisp when I went looking for some suitable photographs around the village of Oxton where I live. I love the snow when it is literally “bright and crisp and even!”

Can’t say I really enjoy the aftermath-slush and muck everywhere. Anyway especially for those in warmer climes, enjoy this virtual winter wonderland.
